Best Internet Connection In Sri Lanka For a Youth (2015 April)
Definition of youth = downloading movies, watch music video , TV shows , you tube and tonne of web browsing. (Minimum 100GB per month)
First internet connection i ever had was SLT prepaid dial up connection. Now in 2015 the internet has change, people has change(market) and also sri lankan ISP has change.

I test all other isp but non of then were unlimited, they had rental (commitment) except Lankbell But the speed is 4Mbps in 2015 i just can't download at that speed, i know dialog prepaid speed is good but if you download after 1 am it can be over 18Mbps which is really good and cheap. also you can stop a it at any time. i also felt good when using this connection because of the pay as you go model.
To get good speed you must have an HSDPA+-DC (dual carrier) dongle and excellent signal

1) to use adsl you need to pay for fixed-line phone, which is really dumb; the customer should have a choice.
2) i bought it during a promotion so i had to pay 3200 rupees and then pay 1500 for the adsl router. i had to fill all forms. it was not bad customer experience but definitely can improve and i felt like their system was every inefficient and not friendly(helpful).
3) had to wait for 2 weeks and still no connection so gave call they said they will fix it after another week no reply so went to teleshop, they said they had made a error and not it's ok.
4) after 2 days slt call me and said to come to teleshop to fill another application form and said they made a error and i get a router free for 3200. Fucking... Shit..!.. now i have 2 ADSL routers, they made me waste one thousand five hundred rupees.
5) after 4 days they came and installed the telephone wire, friendly person and i got the phone where i wanted and even gave extra wire to extend the phone line in the future.
6) after one day they activated phone line but no internet for 2 days and after 2 calls and a visit teleshop to active adsl username and password.
7) But they have made a some kind of mistake and my speed is limited to 1Mbps, so after anger call it is now linited to 8Mbps. SLT advertises as 16Mbps.
8) Other than all the above problems it works well but during the day time, slt adsl might some times be slow, at night it works well. i'm not at all happy with the PING with STL because it been a wired line i expected more and i can remember during 2010 it was about 50ms but now it averaging 100ms during a good day. dialog HSDPA is ping about 200ms and i am impressed with Dialog 4G been 30ms and been Wireless.
9) Conclusion- Slt you made my blood boil and wasted my time, i can remember in 1997; had to wait 4 years to get a telephone connection, now in 2015 it takes about 3 and 1/2 weeks. that is an improve but when compared with your competitors you are far behind and the only advantage you are having is the cable monopoly in sri lanka. otherwise you are destroyed. don't waste you money investing in copper cable invest money on fiber and please don't do fake marketing for fiber which will be available in 5 years time, then your competitors will have 5G LTE. I know Wireless can't beat fiber but will give good competition.
PS. i heard many people complaining about SLT in youtube and Teleshop

1) Also got Dialog 4G connection during a promotion paid 6200 for the equipment and connection fee.
2) very friendly customer services filled all the forms for me i just had to pay the money even inserted the sim to the 4G dongle.
3) after 2 hours the connection was active and working well. signal is very important so move it around the house to find best signal.
4) also in settings change it to use external antenna only.
5) Kind of disappointed with dialog for not including the Battery pack with the Router
6) Conclusion- Simply awesome, just buy it.

4g dongale is only having one antenna so the signal reception is not that good, i'm planning to update it with 2 antenna in the future but i'm kind of happy with 50Mbps speed. might do an upgrade of external antenna but antenna &SMA connectors and coaxial cable are expensive.
It uses standard 3.6v battary you can buy from ebay or petta.

* LankaBell 4G is connection fee of 7500, monthly rental of 1350 with out tax for 35GB @(speed 4Mbps downlaod & 1Mbps. Also you can get Unlimited connection but at very slow speed.
*I Tested Mobitel,Etisalat,Airtel but not include in the review because it was a waste of time and those packages does not make sense for any human or animal to use. So here is what is the best for you...
